This is so easy. I just had an extra onesie. I found a flower pattern on some material and cut out. I sewed that in the center of the top and then cut off the onesie below it. Then I found some fabric, sewed the sides together and gathered the top and then attached the onesie. Be careful so the onesie doesn't stretch too much. Then hem the bottom. So easy, so cute. Would make a great gift.
What to do with the bottom of the onesie? I have plans for it to. Just wait will post later in the week.

ReplyDeleteThank you for linking this to A Little Craft Therapy with Life in the Pitts.
I love it! It seems fairly simple -- something even a beginner like me can pull off :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea - I wish I would have seen this post when we grew out of all of our onesies! Thanks for linking up to Be Inspired today!

What a fun idea! I saw your link on the Life in the Pitts blog, the craft therapy post and I'm glad I did! It looks so cute and easy!
ReplyDeletesaw your link on Blue Cricket - and had to look - my little Princess has a dress that is basically a onesie with a skirt over it - I love how cute it looks, and how well it stays in place - must be comfortable to wear :) - I had intentions of making some of my own, but haven't gotten around to it yet (and keep buying her too many cute outfits anyway!) - but, did want to leave a suggestion for you - don't cut the bottom off, that way it's like a built in little diaper cover, makes for a great play outfit! great job on your dress, very cute!
